RULES
Subject to change without official notice.
ONE LOFT RACE
Accepting birds from March 8th until June 1st. Replacements will be accepted until June 15th.
The Perch Fee is:

$200 per bird ($100 goes towards prize fund)

6 birds for $1,000 ($500 goes towards prize fund)

12 birds for $2,000 ($1000 goes towards prize fund)

The entry fee per bird is $400 and is due after the 110 Mile Activation Race.
The champion bird will be based on points – see rules.
Optional Breeders Cup is $100 per bird up to 3 birds per team – see rules.
When signing up as a team or syndicate, one person must be appointed as the contact person as they will be responsible for all fees, winnings, and birds.
If any excessive winds including high gust winds are forecasted along the race course the OLR manager has the ability to change the release location and time.
If high temperatures are forecasted along the race course the OLR manager has the ability to change the release location and time.
Prizes will stay open for two consecutive days.
Must be 21 years of age or older and a member of an accredited pigeon organization.
Checks need to be made out to Royal Cup Classic.
Perch fees MUST accompany the birds when shipped to the loft! NO EXCEPTIONS! Any birds that arrive without payment will be placed in a separate holding pen until payment arrives and will not be placed in the racing loft until payment arrives.
If two or more pigeons show in the clock as exact ties, prizes will be added up and split equally among the birds that tied.
If a bird does not clock due to piggybacking or clock/chip malfunction and Race Committee verifies the bird was on the drop, it will be placed last in the drop order.
The final race will be flown at the distance of 305 miles with all birds being equipped with electronic chips.
There is no dead time, the clock will keep running until the race is complete. If prizes are still outstanding at the end of race day, the race will continue until dark the following day. Any prizes left over at that time will be distributed evenly among the birds that have arrived.
No one working for the Royal Cup Race will be permitted to enter birds.
All birds will be vaccinated for P.M.V. upon arrival.
A tax identification number recognized by the IRS(W-9 form) will be required prior to awarding any prizes valued at $600 or more, and such awards will be reported as required by IRS regulations.
An Acknowledgement of Rules and Information form must be submitted along with perch fees when birds are shipped to the Royal Cup Race Loft.
No one will be allowed to handle their birds until the supervised night of shipping and loading for the Royal Cup Race.
Return fees must be paid and bird(s) must be retrieved within 14 days of the race. If fees are not received in full within 14 days, the remaining birds will become the property of the Royal Cup Race.
All birds that do not have their race fees paid – in full – by the first race (140 miles) will become the property of Royal Cup Race and will be sold on a first-come/first-served basis. The new owner of the purchased bird will then have all rights to the bird’s winnings as well as the bird itself.
The Royal Cup Race will not be held responsible for birds lost to unforeseen events.
Lost or injured birds may be replaced by June 15th.
The Royal Cup Race Committee reserves the right to make any and all decisions.
Loft manager reserves the right to refuse entry to any breeder or attendee at his discretion.
BREEDERS CUP
- Optional Breeders Cup is $100 per bird up to 3 birds per team. The team with the most point at the end of the series will win the Breeders Cup.
- The first bird in the clock at the 140 Mile Race will be given 140 points.
- The second bird at the 140 Mile Race in the clock will be given 139 points and so on until the 140th place bird earns 1 point.
- The first bird at the 190 Mile Race will be given 190 points.
- The second bird at the 190 Mile Race in the clock will be given 189 points and so on until the 190th place bird earns 1 point.
- The first bird in the clock at the 305 Mile Race will be given 305 points.
- The second bird at the 305 Mile Race in the clock will be given 304 points and so on until the 305th place bird earns 1 point.
- In case of a tie, the tiebreaker will be the first bird in the clock at the 305 Mile Race.
CHAMPION BIRD
- The first bird in the clock at the 140 Mile Race will be given 140 points.
- The second bird at the 140 Mile Race in the clock will be given 139 points and so on until the 140th place bird earns 1 point.
- The first bird at the 190 Mile Race will be given 190 points.
- The second bird at the 190 Mile Race in the clock will be given 189 points and so on until the 190th place bird earns 1 point.
- The first bird in the clock at the 305 Mile Race will be given 305 points.
- The second bird at the 305 Mile Race in the clock will be given 304 points and so on until the 305th place bird earns 1 point.
- In case of a tie, the tiebreaker will be the first bird in the clock at the 305 Mile Race.
IRON EAGLE
The Iron Eagle Memorial race will be flown approximately two weeks after the main race from 350 miles. The Iron Eagle is an optional race with an entry fee of $100 per bird if paid before the 140 mile race. If you nominated your bird after the 305 mile race, it is then $250 per bird.
